Chiropractic – DId You Know?

Did you know that there are around 3,000 practicing chiropractors in the UK today? This number is growing on a year to year basis.

Chiropractic is backed up by positive evidence and is even recommended in The National Institute of Clinical Excellence (Nice) guidelines for back pain of greater than 6weeks, but less than 1 year duration.

Chiropractors in the UK must be registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). The GCC is the body established to regulate and develop the chiropractic profession. It is a criminal offence to call yourself a chiropractor if you are not registered with the GCC.

In order to be registered with the GCC a chiropractor must have completed a degree in chiropractic from an accredited university. Currently a chiropractor must undertake a 4 or 5 year Master of Chiropractic degree course.

In addition, a chiropractor will take out membership with a professional association such as the British Chiropractic Association (BCA).

At MotionBack, our chiropractor is registered with the GCC and is a member with the BCA.
