The low impact inactivity, that basically involves paddling on a surf board, has become increasingly popular in recent years, especially among people with back pain. And it’s easy to see why – it’s incredibly gentle on the tendons, ligaments and joints and helps to improve strength, balance and core stability. Even just the relaxing nature of bobbing along the water offers great stress relief.
So have a go at paddle boarding this summer and give your back health a boost as you engage almost every muscle in your body to maintain your balance on the board. You’ll look pretty cool in front of your family, too (as long as you don’t fall in the water, that is!).
