It is that time of year again, BackCare awareness week. For us at Motionback Chiropractic we are big advocates of this week. With so many patients coming through our doors suffering from back pain we certainly feel the need to support an awareness campaign.
A lot of our patients at Motionback Chiropractic do suffer from back pain often caused by poor posture and lifestyle habits. This year the focus is office workers, and about time too.
With around 7 million working days going missing due to work-related back pain it is a significant problem.
Fortunately it isn’t a problem that is unsolvable, with the correct posture and way of doing things so many of us could avoid the back pain that takes us out of work
If you are sitting correctly at your desk, with your computer monitor at the right height you can avoid a lot of long term issues. If you get up and stretch and walk about every 30-45 minutes you will ensure that your back stays in a better condition than otherwise. If you ensure the furniture you are sat in and you use are designed appropriately as to not cause pain you will be ok.
Being a busy Chiropractic Clinic in central London we often see patients come in with office related back pain and we often tell them that there are simple solutions to back pain at work and they almost always involve prevention techniques and posture management.
