Re-hydrate Your Way to Better Health

We all know that drinking enough water is crucial to our overall well being, but how exactly can it prevent back pain?

Our London chiropractor explains…

Between every two spinal vertebrae lies a disk, the role of which is to act as shock absorbers for the stresses our backs undergo every day. These disks contain two parts: an outer tough ring which is filled with a gelatinous substance and an inner part which is mostly water. Throughout each day, as gravity sets in on our upright spines, this water gradually squeezes out of the disks.

When there is a sufficient supply of water in our bodies, our disks successful re-hydrate themselves each night. But when there is not an adequate amount of water available, the disks becomes compromised.
